To photograph is to hold one’s breath, when all faculties converge to capture fleeting reality. It’s at that precise moment that mastering an image becomes a great physical and intellectual joy.
- Henri Cartier-Bresson
Long ago, a grade school teacher asked us to commit to memory his most basic tenant of science, that observation is "noticing or paying close attention to your surroundings in order to gain information." The camera is my tool for recording those observations of humanity, of nature, of the things that otherwise go forgotten or unnoticed.
My editoral work often captures the fleeting pause in life’s chaos, quietly telling a story of the overlooked.
